CH14

As the glow fades from the wonderful Rocket Club Lucky 13 CD Release party, I find myself thankful for the past and excited about the future.  I’m thankful for everything that was/is Rocket Club.  That show Thursday night was beyond imaginable.  It was magical.  It was a dream come true.

What am I excited about?  2014.  To be more exact, CH14.

As Rocket Club goes into hibernation, I find myself on the precipice of a brand new chapter.  Here are the details:

In October of 2013, after RC had decided to take the 2014 year off, I made my way to Nashville to record a brand new solo album.  The results of that recording session will be released in April of 2014.  The songs were written by some of the best songwriters alive today.  The music was recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced in Nashville by Nashville’s best.  The record, which will be self-titled, is a continuation of everything I have been working towards my entire life.  I’m very proud of it.  Honestly, this group of songs is so good that I spent a lot of time worrying whether or not I would be able to do them justice vocally.  I think that I did.  I’m happy to say that you’ll be able to judge for yourself very soon.  The first single, "My Kinda Crazy", will be available on Itunes Tuesday 3/18 and hitting the radio airwaves very soon.  Some of the best country radio stations in the country, including K102 in Minneapolis, have agreed to give the song some spins.  I can’t wait for you to hear it.

I also can’t wait to play these songs for you live.  I’ve called upon some of my best friends in the world to join me in The Chris Hawkey Family Band (See Line-up Below).  We’ve been rehearsing like crazy and will be debuting the new live show in April.  The Spring/Summer/Fall schedule for the CH14 project is exciting, to say the least.  We’ll be at WeFest, Lakes Jam, Ramble Jam, Rockwood’s Jamfest, and many, many more festivals, fairs, and venues.  We’ll play the new CH music, some Rocket Club classics, some of my older songs, and an ever evolving group of cover songs that we love.  The shows will be high energy celebrations of music.  I can’t wait.

So there you have it.  2014…CH14 is upon us.  I can barely control my excitement. New music, new shows, and new opportunities to share moments with all of you.  Please check out the show page, listen for the new tune on the radio, and come out to catch The Chris Hawkey Family Band.  It’s gonna be a fun year!

Onward!
Hawk
