A while back I had an idea to try turning Pat Benatar’s “Shadows of the Night” into a country duet for an upcoming acoustic show with Sarah Kiroddy and her husband Matt.

Matt put together an acoustic arrangement and we recorded a rough version just for rehearsal. We ended up liking it so much that we decided to take it a step further and record a full studio version. 

It’s a different take on a song I’ve always loved and I think there’s something really cool about hearing the lyrics as a conversation between two people.
